Key activities

  • Inspecting insects with magnifying glasses and recording observations
  • Observing a worm and making a yarn-and-paint representation
  • Constructing a spoon ant with pipe cleaners and googly eyes
  • Making a paper-plate bee while exploring busy bees
  • Painting an insect image with marbles to review the week's findings

You’ll need

magnifying glasses and insect pictures, a worm or worm image, paper and paint, yarn, spoons and pipe cleaners, googly eyes and glue, paper plates and coloured paper, letter Mm cards, number 1 cards and loose parts

Structure: 5 days; each day: Thought of the Day, Tuning-in Time, Warm-up, EVS, Literacy, Numeracy
