What children learn

Key activities
- Colour a chosen pet-animal cut-out and explain the choice.
- Make paw-and-claw prints with dog and cat figurines.
- Create a bird or fish paper-plate craft and a mouse finger puppet after a story.
- Wash animal figurines in a pet-care role-play and interview visiting pet owners.
- Make a dog-bottle rattler and prepare banana ladoos in small groups.

Pet-animal cut-outs and figurines, crayons and paint, paper plates and craft pieces, letter I flashcards and manipulatives, pet-care bowls and washing supplies, musical instruments, plastic bottles and rice, banana-ladoo ingredients and utensils.
Structure: 5 days; each day includes a Thought of the Day, Tuning-in Time, gross-motor development, cognition/literacy, literacy or fine-motor work, and numeracy.
