A 5-day lesson plan focusing on the Sense of Hearing, sound identification, and loud and soft sounds. Features triangle hunts and crafts, body percussion, and shaker bottle construction.

What children learn

  • Understand that ears help us hear sounds in the environment.
  • Listen attentively and identify familiar sounds and their sources.
  • Distinguish loud and soft sounds and use related descriptive vocabulary.
  • Explore sounds made naturally by the body and combine them rhythmically.
  • Revisit and construct triangles through loose-parts, movement, felt, and craft activities.

You’ll need

bells and musical instruments, keys, bottles, water, spoons and plates, rice and beans, senses books and cut-outs, crayons and glue, paintbrushes and paint, bubble wrap, triangle flashcards and cut-outs, loose parts and felt triangles

Structure: 5 days; each day includes a Thought of the Day, Tuning-in Time, GMD, Cognition/Literacy, FMD, and Numeracy activities.
