Communication (Mana Reo) — printable resources

Developing verbal and non-verbal languages, early literacy, symbols, books, expression, music, and art.

Mana Reo, the strand of Communication, is about children developing verbal and non-verbal language, creative expression, and early literacy. Our rich range of English, literacy, and creative learning printables offers letter-tracing activities, phonics tasksheets, story-sequencing cards, and craft templates. These visual resources help young learners build vocabulary, recognise alphabet symbols, and explore creative arts, supporting their journey from talking and drawing toward reading and writing.

Incorporate these early literacy and art templates into daily storytelling, rhymes, and dramatic play. Kaiako can use the story-sequencing printables to prompt rich oral discussions, encouraging nohinohi and kōhungahunga to share ideas and describe details. Combining structured mark-making and letter formation with play-based expression builds confidence and spelling familiarity as older children prepare for their exciting transition to school.
