A 5-day lesson plan where children explore visible and internal body parts, their functions, and the five senses. Through science experiments, games, and dramatic play, they build self-awareness and healthy habits.

What children learn

  • Identify visible body parts and describe what they do.
  • Recognise key internal body parts and explore how the lungs and stomach work.
  • Investigate the five senses and match each sense to the body part used.
  • Observe that fingerprints are unique.
  • Describe healthy and hygienic habits, including thorough handwashing.

  • Exploring Visible Human Body Parts with a doll, charts, and movement games
  • Exploring Internal Body Parts at lung and stomach experiment stations
  • Investigating Five Senses through a mystery snack and five sensory stations
  • Discovering Our Unique Fingerprints with inkpads and magnifying glasses
  • Healthy/Hygienic Habits treasure hunt and glitter-germ handwashing demonstration
  • Body Tracing Painting and Doctors Clinic dramatic play

You’ll need

dolls and body-part charts, paper and chart paper, markers, paint and brushes, art supplies, flashcards, magnifying glasses, sensory samples and containers, role-play props

Structure: 5 days; each day: Thought of the Day, Tuning-in Time, Warm-up, Social Studies/Science, Creative Learning, English, Maths
