Social Studies — printable resources

Learning about human systems, communities, and our place in the local and global environment.

Social Studies in the PYP guides young children to understand themselves, their relationships with others, and their place in local and global environments. Our community-focused packages and worksheets introduce different jobs, local neighbourhoods, and modes of travel. These printables support cognitive reasoning as children learn about social responsibilities, diverse cultures, and how people interact, travel, and organise themselves within their communities.

These social studies printables are excellent triggers for role-play and transdisciplinary inquiries into who we are and how we organise ourselves. Use these sheets as visual prompts for children to draw their own homes, map their school, or discuss community helpers. In EY1, EY2, and EY3, this helps educators cultivate international-mindedness, open-minded thinking, and a sense of shared responsibility for our planet.
