Science — printable resources

Investigating the natural and physical world, developing scientific observation skills through inquiry.

Science in the PYP provides an opportunity for children to explore the biological, chemical, and physical aspects of our world. Our scientific observation templates and inquiry guides prompt young children to investigate plants, animals, weather, and changing seasons. These printables support cognitive reasoning and observational skills, offering structured ways for children to record water experiments, track floating and sinking, and study the earth and space.

Incorporate these science observation templates into your outdoor exploration or classroom discovery tables. Educators can use these guides to anchor lines of inquiry during central units of study, like how the world works. By using the sheets to draw and label what they observe, EY1, EY2, and EY3 learners develop key transdisciplinary skills while nurturing their natural curiosity, risk-taker, and reflective learner profiles.
