Creativity — printable resources

Fostering artistic expression, music, fine motor skills, and imaginative play in South African early years.

Creativity in the NCF gives children a vehicle to express their unique ideas, feelings, and imaginations. Our curated collection of printables includes open-ended drawing prompts, theme-based colouring pages, and scissor skills craft templates. These activities focus on the creative journey and sensory exploration, helping young children develop fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, and confidence while valuing their personal process of self-expression.

In Grade R and crèche settings, practitioners can use these drawing and craft templates as warm invitations for self-selected play or small-group work. Provide children with local materials like clay, scrap paper, or natural elements to use alongside the sheets, encouraging them to design and build. Exploring these creative templates allows young children to represent their world, fostering confidence and joy aligned with the NCF's Creativity ELDA outcomes.
